Already getting excited about this year. We start in May making plans for all of the great food we eat at camp in Tent City.
I need anyone who has ever contributed a dish at Michael Burks campsite to get in touch with me. I’m hoping to make a camp cookbook for 2010.

You guys should get Buddy Guy. I saw him at Riverfest, and he was simply genious! If you guys got him, I would DEFINATLEY attend your festival! But, you could also shoot for people like David Honeybody Edwards, BB King, Eric Clapton, and other people like that. I would love that because it would be very entertaining. For what it’s worth, Buddy Guy puts on a really good show. He put on a really good show at Riverfest, and he was very entertaining!
Rev KM Williams on Tue, 26th May 2009 11:06 am
We Played the SXSW 2009,2009 Juke Joint Festival and Playing the 2009 Deep Blues Festival ,would love to complete the circuit and play the 2009 Arkansas Blues & Heritage on Stage this year! We always enjoying playing there whether its on stage or the street!
Tweeds Blues on Tue, 26th May 2009 1:58 pm
Can never have enough Bobby Rush. His big stage show is best I’ve seen other than Rolling Stones and Bobby don’t need blow up dolls and fireworks to get across.
Johnny lowebow on Wed, 27th May 2009 7:29 am
Johnny Lowebow is a Cherry St. Veteran. Charge as much as you can for the main stage . Please don’t make the buskers pay to play. The Buskers are the Heart of ” The Biscuit”. Why all these Chicago folks? There are plenty of Arkansas Acts who only have a few seasons left in them. Sleepy LeBeef, Dale Hawkins,Ronnie Hawkins, Tav Falco and many more.
John Haverty on Wed, 27th May 2009 3:59 pm
Jumpin’ Johnny Sansome put on a great show! He was there two years ago, right? I am glad to see Hamilton Loomis going again this year. Hopefully he will be moved up a little more to primetime because I think he will get the crowd a rock’n!
Guitar Mac on Fri, 29th May 2009 5:08 pm

Lee Arts on Wed, 10th Jun 2009 12:55 pm
I can’t wait to see Bobby Rush. He keeps it real. I wish you had some zydeco music on the ticket. That would really shake it up.
Richie on Thu, 11th Jun 2009 2:57 am
How about that?
http://www.amazon.com/Chicago-Blues-History-Lurrie-Bell/dp/B001TQJH44/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1244706876&sr=1-1

Adrian Goodsell on Tue, 16th Jun 2009 5:00 pm
So far, so good! But I’ve think Lurrie Bell would be a great addition to the line up.
Michel Hofkens on Fri, 19th Jun 2009 2:00 pm

SKIPPING BOBBY RUSH FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!!!
Enough of the big women and Bobby Rush.
Would love to see Diunna Greenleaf, Trampled Under Foot.
Marcia Smith on Fri, 26th Jun 2009 9:28 am
Kevin Naquin is not zydeco, however zydeco is a southern black music tradition and King Biscuit did present Terrance Simien years ago as one of their festivals. I place my vote for him as a Grammy winning artist whose live performance is not to be missed.
wkane on Fri, 26th Jun 2009 11:19 am
Geez, I see all these comments of I want to see him, or her, or them.
I am always happy with whom ever is performing at the festival.
The organizers of this, or matter of fact any event, go through a hell of a lot putting festivals together. Why can’t we just enjoy the fruits of their labors. Not I wanna hear this person.
Stop being so damn greedy.
Thanks to the organizers. Been attending the event for 20 years or so and have enjoyed every year. Keep up the great work. We appreciate it very much.
Randy Christian on Sat, 27th Jun 2009 1:58 pm
I have been lucky enough to attend the King Biscuit seven out of the last ten years. Every year has been a great experience. However ,the last couple of years have stagnated slightly. Having the same people year end and year out is becoming a little boring. Tinsley Ellis was exceptional last year. Other acts I would love to see: Rod Piazza , Ronnie Earl , Walter Trout , Chris Cain , CoCo Montoya, Guitar Shorty , Tony Joe White , Derek Trucks. Also having some Zydeco mixed in helps.
Julie Overbey on Mon, 29th Jun 2009 12:26 am
What about Wilie Cobbs. He is a true Arkansas tradition, but somehow he is always left off the line up. I agree with the other posts about Bobby Rush- a little goes a very long way.
Tim on Wed, 1st Jul 2009 1:08 pm
Bobby Rush is the worst show that I have ever seen. Getting tired of seeing Bobby Rush every year. If you think you have to have him because he is a local boy then please make it the last act again this year so I can get headed out early. BOBBY RUSH – NO WATERMELON SLIM – YES
Mary Anne Mclaurin-Norwood on Mon, 6th Jul 2009 10:08 pm
Johnny Lowe is RIGHT. There’s already a Chicago Blues Fest, right?
Mary Anne Mclaurin-Norwood on Mon, 6th Jul 2009 10:14 pm
T-Model Ford, Robert Belfour, Honeyboy Edwards, Bill Abel, Robert “Bilbo” Walker, Big Jack Johnson, Big T & the Family, and what about CEDELL DAVIS with Brethren? They rocked it out at the Juke Joint Fest, and are about to do it again at Deep Blues.
Mary Anne Mclaurin-Norwood on Mon, 6th Jul 2009 10:14 pm
and Jeff Norwood too!

Oh boy,To just get to Brinkley, my heart starts pounding as I head south. I dig walking to the big river feeling the breeze on the levee, looking at all the barbque smoke behind the main stage,Sam Carr doin his thang Eddie Cambell singing,The whole busker thing on cherry St.It’s just incredabile Goin to Bubba’s The Culture Center, seeing Blue again.Never a let down.My first helena show was in 90. I drank Canadian Club with a couple of locals and had a great time. Frank Frost and Willie Foster are vivid. I miss them both.Well Dustin and Arbuckle will be there.Hopefully Betty Lavette some day. See ya there…
